Access Statement

Four self-catering cottages are all 2-storey (ground and first floor) accommodation standing within private grounds of owner’s home which adjoins driveway, courtyard, parking area and landscaped gardens.   Village centre-shops, pub and hotels a few minutes walk from drive entrance.

Pre-Arrival

  • Detailed descriptions, photographs and location map available on website.
  • Bookings/enquiries can be made by e mail, post, fax or phone.  
  • Local bus service to Cirencester 5 times daily (weekdays) once (Saturday)
  • Nearest railway station Kemble 12 miles (service from London Paddington)
  • Regular National Express coach service to Cirencester (6 miles from Bibury) from London (Victoria) via Heathrow Airport.   Please contact us for up to date coach/bus timetables and taxi phone no’s.

Arrival and Car Parking

Owner’s home is on site.  Someone always available to welcome guests, show them into accommodation, help with luggage if needed, provide local information and deal with any problems during stay. 
Driveway, car park and cottage entrances have comprehensive system of outside lighting.
Each cottage has an allocated parking space (on gravel or tarmacadam surface)
within 15/20 metres of cottage entrance.  All parking is off road within private enclosed grounds.
Within each cottage is information folder with details of local facilities, entertainments, tourist attractions and public services.

Grounds and Gardens

Secluded garden, with lawn area, tables chairs and umbrellas available for joint use of all guests.   Garden accessible from car park via 6 stone steps – each 20cm rise, 40 cm tread.

The Bakehouse

  • Level paved pathway (1 m. wide 17 m. length) from car parking to entrance steps
  • 3 shallow steps – 1.2 m. wide each with 12 cm. rise – 43 cm. tread lead to entrance double doors 1.2 m. wide. Wheel chair ramp available on site.
  • Whole ground floor including bathroom, level with no steps or rises all doors 1 m wide.  
  • Kitchen and dining area open plan.  Work top height 90 cm. Vinyl floor no rugs/carpets.
  • Lounge has double sofa-bed for guests with difficulty climbing stairs.
  • Downstairs bathroom 3.4 m. x 1.6 m. has walk in shower area 1 m. sq. with no shower door, steps or base tray.   Whole room open plan with non-slip safety flooring.    Toilet seat 41 cm. height.  Space to left of WC is 75 cm. (1.75 m. when door closed).
  • Stairs to bedroom 11 steps 56 cm. wide.  En suite bathroom, has bath (50 cm. height) WC (seat 41 cm height)  washbasin with free space underneath.

The Tallet

  • Entrance door 81 cm. wide no door step.  Parking space (on gravel) 8 m. away.
  • Bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor, no steps between each room.   All doors 75 cm wide.   Bathroom overall 2.8 m x 1.9 m (open floor 2 m x 1.9 m) Bath (height 54 cm) with shower over, WC seat 41 cm height.
  • Stairs to first floor (13 steps) 80 cm wide, with wall fixed handrail.  
  • First floor open plan lounge and kitchen area with dining table.  Kitchen work tops 90 cm height. Whole area well lit with ceiling spot lights.

The Granary

  • Entrance door 82 cm wide, shallow (6 cm) doorstep.  Parking space on gravel/tarmacadam 8/10 m away.   
  • Bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor no steps between each room.  All doors 68 cm wide.   Bathroom overall 3m x 1.65 m (open floor 2 m x 1.65m) has shower with 90 cm base tray.  WC 41 cm height.
  • Stairs to first floor (12 steps) are 80 cm wide with wall fixed handrail.
  • First floor open plan lounge and kitchen area with dining table.  Kitchen work top 90 cm height.  Whole area well lit with ceiling spot lights.

The Stables

  • Entrance door 1.3 m. wide. Shallow (6 cm) doorstep.  Parking on tarmacadam 4 m. away
  • Bedrooms and bathroom on ground floor no steps between each room. All doors
  • 68 cm wide.  Bathroom overall 1.7 m x 1.7 m (open floor 1 m x 1.7 m) bath 54 cm height.  WC seat 42 cm height.
  • Stairs to first floor (12 steps) are 80 cm wide with banister handrail.
  • First floor open plan lounge and kitchen area with dining table.  Kitchen work top 90 cm height. Whole area well lit with ceiling spot lights.
